Ordering for the bar and the dining room in one pass
An event has two glass surfaces and they want opposite inventories. The dining room wants repetition: an identical piece at every setting, uniform down the length of a hall. A bar wants variety instead, a handful of forms chosen against what is being poured, in quantities that have nothing whatever to do with your seating chart. Twenty-one pieces cover both halves, ranging from $0.90 to $1.50.
Build the order in that sequence. Begin with the seated half, where the arithmetic is rigid: your confirmed seat count multiplied by whatever stands at each place, and nothing about it flexes, because a seat either exists or it does not. Then build the bar, where the arithmetic loosens. People change form across a long evening, put one down, pick up a fresh one, then change again after the meal, so the bar half of an order always runs ahead of the seated half.
