Working in Westchester
The practical side of a Westchester event
From our Hialeah base, Westchester is about 14 miles south — far enough that we write the drive into the run sheet, close enough that it never becomes the interesting part of the day. The crew leaves with time in hand and the bar is standing well before your first guest is.
Coral Terrace starts about a mile from Westchester, with Olympia Heights and Fontainebleau not much further out. This is one of the tightly packed corners of the county, and it shows up in the practical details — narrow streets, shared parking, a load-in that has to be pointed at the right door.
People search for Westchester because it is where they live, not because it is a municipality — it is an unincorporated area of Miami-Dade. On the event side that tends to be simpler than the neighboring cities: county rules, plus whatever your HOA or venue says about vehicles, timing and access.
We plan to be there about 1 hour before service. Breakdown runs the same way in reverse: the bar comes down, the glassware and coolers go back on the truck, and the space is left as we found it — which, with about 14 miles still to drive home, is still not something we rush.
You can price a Westchester event yourself in the wizard below — hours, guests, what you want behind the bar — and see the number before you speak to anyone. It opens at about $255 for the 3-hour minimum and moves from there with whatever you add.
Around 22% of the bartending quotes we write are staff only — no bar, no coolers, no serveware, just the people. If that is all you need in Westchester, it is an entirely ordinary booking rather than an awkward one.
Is there an extra charge for coming out to Westchester?
The hourly rate does not change with distance. Bartending is $85/hour with a 3-hour minimum whether the event is beside our Hialeah yard or about 14 miles away in Westchester.
What does move the number is the length of the event, the guest count and what you ask us to bring — all of which you control in the wizard on this page.
Do you need anything from my Westchester venue?
Two things, ideally before the day rather than on it: where the truck can stop, and which door the bar comes through. A long carry is fine when we know about it and a scramble when we do not.
We will also ask what surface the bar is going on and whether there is cover, because both change how we build it.
What happens if it rains on my Westchester event?
The bar can move under cover, and we would far rather plan that with you in advance than improvise it on the day — tell us what your fallback is when you book.
If the date has to move altogether it can be rescheduled free of charge up to 48 hours beforehand.
How far ahead should I book a Westchester event?
As early as you can, for the dull reason that weekend crews are finite. December is the month we price the most bartending dates in — 13% of them — so a date in that stretch is worth locking down.
A 25% deposit is all it takes to hold one, and it stays refundable until 7 days out.
