From our Hialeah base, Miami is about 14 miles southeast — far enough that we write the drive into the run sheet, close enough that it never becomes the interesting part of the day. The crew leaves with time in hand and the bar is standing well before your first guest is.
The nearest other area on our list, Miami Beach, measures about 4 miles from the middle of Miami, and El Portal and North Bay Village are further still. Worth a thought when you set arrival times, since guests coming across from those are making a real journey.
Being incorporated, Miami answers for its own streets — which mostly reaches you as parking. Where a truck may legally stand for the load-in is a local question, and your venue almost always knows the answer. We only need it asked before the day rather than on it.
Arrival is scheduled roughly 1 hour before the bar opens, and that window has to cover the load-in from wherever the truck can legally stop. In Miami that is worth confirming in advance — a long carry is fine when we know about it and a scramble when we do not.
Dates in Miami are held with a 25% deposit and can be moved free of charge up to 48 hours before the event. Weekend dates go first, which is the only honest reason to book early rather than a sales one.
Half the bartending quotes we have written are for 50 guests or fewer, so a Miami backyard party is squarely normal for us rather than a small job squeezed between bigger ones.
About 1 hour before service starts, which is the window we work to everywhere. With about 14 miles to cover from Hialeah we leave with margin rather than counting on a clear road.
If your venue will let us in earlier we will usually take it — an unhurried setup is the cheapest quality upgrade on the whole booking.
